Lincoln Day Dinner 2018

On Friday. March 23, 2018, The Randolph County Republican Party will hold our annual Lincoln Day Dinner at AVS Banquet Center 2045 North Fayetteville Street Asheboro, NC.

The dinner will start promptly at 7:00 P.M. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased from any Executive Committee member or by calling 336-629-6529.

Our featured guest is John McNabb. An engaging speaker, Mr. McNabb is the Vice Cairman of the American Leadership Council, co-founder of the Trump Leadership Council,  and is the former CEO of Wilbros Group.

McNabb was an All-American offensive lineman in 1965 for Duke University. Following graduation, he commissioned into the Air Force as a B-66 Bomber aviator and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters for actions during the Vietnam War.

Following his service in Vietnam, McNabb worked for N.C. Gov. Terry Sanford before a stint in regional banking. Eventually, he found great success in the energy services industry and became CEO of Willbros., one of the largest energy contractors in the world at that time.

In 2016, McNabb was recruited to be part of the Trump Leadership Council, a national organization that supported the policy efforts of then-candidate Donald Trump. Through that process, McNabb says he grew to know Trump and learned about his goals.

“He was not like I thought he was advertised. He was quiet, charming, funny, a great listener, thoughtful — all these things you don’t believe about Donald Trump,” said McNabb. “He’s an amazing guy.”

Randolph County Republican Party Chair Dave Craven said, “We are excited to hear from someone who saw the potential of President Trump early on. John McNabb exemplifies the type of leaders that President Trump has surrounded himself with.”

McNabb will discuss his efforts before the election and his role as vice president of the American Leadership Council, a group that is continuing to work for pro-business reforms, including regulatory reforms and lower taxes.

“While legislative efforts are driving a lot of headlines, the efforts of President Trump’s administration to unshackle American business from over-regulation are a big part of our economic recovery,” said N.C. Speaker of the House Tim Moore. “John has experienced the effects of stifling government burdens on business and he is committed to the president’s Make America Great Again philosophy.”
